Keyword Density Checker.
There is no target density and has not been for over a decade. What the count is good for is the opposite check: noticing that the phrase you wrote the page for appears nowhere in it.
Body text only. Leave out the navigation and the footer, or every page on the site will look like it is about your menu.
Optional. Checks whether the phrase appears at all, which is the failure worth catching.

Finding a problem and fixing it are different jobs, and the second one is ours. Send the result over and you get back what it would take to put right — scoped and priced, from the person who would do the work, within one business day.
What this tool measures
Paste a page's copy and see what it is actually about, counted one, two and three words at a time.
The honest version of what this measures: there is no target density. Google stopped using keyword density as a ranking input well over a decade ago, and every “aim for one to two percent” figure you have read is folklore repeated until it sounded like a standard. Writing to hit a percentage makes pages worse, and it is detectable.
What the count is genuinely good for is the opposite check. Noticing that a page about accounting software says “software” ninety times and “accounting” four. Noticing that the phrase you commissioned the page for does not appear in it at all. Noticing that a two-thousand-word article circles one idea and never names it.
How to use it
Paste body copy only. Leave out the navigation, the footer and the cookie banner, or every page on the site will look like it is about your menu. If you are checking a live page, take the text from the crawler view tool rather than selecting it in a browser.
Put the phrase you wrote the page for in the second field. That single check — does this phrase appear at all — catches more real problems than the whole frequency table underneath it.
How to read the result
Read the two- and three-word lists before the single words. Single words are ambiguous; phrases are what people actually search. A page whose top phrase is “contact us today” is telling you something about its writing.
If your target phrase is absent, that is the finding and nothing else on the page matters until it is fixed. Not because of density, but because a page that never names its subject in the words a reader would use is a page about something adjacent to what you meant.
If a phrase is above about four percent, the concern is not an algorithmic penalty, it is that it will read as repetitive to a person. That constraint has outlasted every algorithm change and will outlast the next one.
What to do next
If the target phrase is missing, add it where it belongs — usually the H1, the opening paragraph and one subheading — and leave the rest of the copy alone.
If the frequency table is full of words you did not expect, that is a brief problem rather than an editing problem. The page was written about something other than what you asked for, and adjusting the wording will not fix the structure underneath it.
Questions people ask
What is a good keyword density?
There isn't one. The concept comes from an era when search engines counted term frequency directly, and modern retrieval works on embeddings and passage relevance instead. Any tool giving you a target percentage is giving you a number with nothing behind it.
Can keyword stuffing still cause a penalty?
Yes, though it is rarer than the folklore suggests, and it takes a lot. What happens far more often is quieter: the page reads badly, people leave, and it never gains the engagement that would have helped it. The practical ceiling is set by readers, not by algorithms.
Should I use variations and synonyms?
Write naturally and you will, without trying. Search engines have handled synonymy and related entities for years, so covering a subject properly matters far more than repeating one string. If you find yourself avoiding a synonym to protect a percentage, the percentage is running the page.
Why does this ignore words like “the” and “of”?
Only in the single-word list, where they would dominate and say nothing. The phrase lists keep them, because in a phrase they change the meaning — “web design in dubai” and “web design dubai” are different queries with different results.
